Our life must become our creative art if we are to live it alive. The way we move through our days, how we spend our time and whom we spend it with all come to be the fabric of our life. Looking at our entire life as a work of art, we begin to understand that we are the co-creators of our experience here in time and space, and we are responsible for creating our own masterpiece. It is our choice if we just let life happen to us, or if we decide to allow the artist soul to emerge by making a conscious choice to open up to the full magnitude of our abilities to create.

As our lives become more creative and artistic, we are simultaneously getting more and more in touch with our soul, our true essence. The soul is actually the driving force that requires us to get grounded in life and to dream up new expressions of our being and to produce something visceral and heartfelt. While getting in touch with our spirit elevates our soul, purifies our desires, opens our hearts and gives us the higher vision to create amazing grace in our lives and or to see what we already do with new eyes. The spirit and the soul could be likened to canvas and paint, respectively. 

If we were to surround ourselves in simple beauty, calm environments, treks into nature, and immersed ourselves in the mystery of our own soul and opened to being surprised we would find that we start to become something unrecognizable. No longer requiring mountains of overstimulation, violence and aggressiveness, we would finally be able to apprehend the exquisite beauty that resides in every moment of life... and in the silences of our own soul. 

It is uncanny how social reality can deaden and numb us so that the mystical wonder of our lives goes totally unnoticed. We are here. We are wildly and dangerously free. The more lonely side of being here is our separation in the world. - John O'Donohue 

As those of us who have brought our lives forward from the inside out do so, we find that we are every increasingly sensitive to our environment, to each other and to society. And while this can be somewhat painful as we feel as though we are moving in slow motion as compared to the fast pace of society, it is also our calling to help the world "slow down" and re-enter the garden so that we can enjoy our lives... truly to fill our lives with JOY! This is the remembrance of the artist soul within each of us. 

To the artist soul, every thing, every moment, every place and everyone has an inherent beauty even when ugliness is present. What we find as the artist emerges is that ugliness is not the enemy, so much as the need for speed. This quicksilver attitude, addictive, linear patterning, which has caused us to be magnificent learners and retainers of knowledge, if not allowed to take its rightful place, can stop the artist soul from ever truly emerging. And this will create a void that we will incessantly try to fill. 

When you begin to sense that your imagination is the place where you are most divine, you feel called to clean out of your mind all the worn and shabby furniture of thought. You wish to refurbish yourself with living thought so that you can begin to see.  John O'Donohue 

The artist soul helps us to let go and let the God within come forth and create a life worthy of Kings and Queens, with conscious delight at our own true nature. Trying to stuff ourselves into a safe little box loses all appeal and we no longer try to fill our hearts desires with fascimilies of what we really desire. This powerful being within has no such need for tight control and rigid rules.This powerful being knows when to color inside the lines and when to color outside the lines. This One has come to the altar of the soul of the world and has claimed the ability to choose... not from a place of conditioned programming... but from the ceaseless and limitless abundant supply of the Universal Creative Force within and the realization that there is way more to this artist than meets the eye.

In this school of life, we are simply learning the lessons of our own artistry and that we have the power to manifest our hearts desires, and also to change our creations as we so desire. It is here as we merge art and soul that we become the artist standing at the gates of everything. And all becomes possible... and we are no longer afraid to make a choice, because we trust that we are always operating from the artist soul and that everything we choose brings us closer to home. This is the gift of the story of our lives and our birthright to create lives of unimaginable joy, light and love. What kind of life will you create?

If knowing thyself is the key to life, one of the most important bits of knowledge may very well be to know what inspires us to create. What moves our souls? Sparks our creativity? Gets the ideas flowing and the heart glowing? Even if we don't exactly know, the next most important question would be... is there a willingness to explore?

“Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” ― Walt Disney

All too often when on the spiritual path, especially as mystics who thrive on our connection to the mind of God, we sometimes don't focus on the heart of God. We forget about the Goddess. The Spirit, the lightning bolt of inspiration might fuel our visions, fill our senses and portend the ineffable, but in order to truly capture the essence of God in the physical senses we must have a sacred container to be able to connect where it counts... right here on earth! For the mystic there is truly only one logical conclusion to this conversation, as we go deeper and deeper into the divinity, we find that some form of art gives us the outlet that we need to express the inexpressable quality of the divine in the physical.

The role of myth and archetype, as well as angels and masters can become a tremendous influence for our creativity. These are fantastic jumping off points into the mystery void of creation, as they contain universal themes and also hold clues about ancient memories. Go with what tickles your fancy. Don't be afraid to allow whimsy and nonsense to tease out some serious art! The wonderful thing about art, contrary to popular opinion, is that you really can't do it wrong. For it is personal expression, and art does not live in time and space. Art is the language of the soul.

We are all artists. We may not have fully discovered our art, but that doesn't mean that it isn't in there. And if we have discovered something of it, that does not mean that it won't change or evolve. The artists touch is something to apply to every single aspect of life. Art is not only beautiful, touching and inspiring, it is also deeply healing. In many ways artists are healers, especially if they can get in touch with their own soul through their art. There is nothing like that moment when we see a work of art and feel the recognition of a kindred spirit resonating with us. This is true joy as our own soul is reflected back to us in a way that articulates somestimes something lost in ourselves. We are so grateful when our deepest, innermost soulful notions can find expression. there is a soul satisfaction in this, an understanding of the kindred spirits, that might well be an art form unto itself. One of our biggest blocks to creativity is what we think about how we feel. All too often I have seen serene, happy people become critical, anxious, and self-effacing during the creative process. Some of that is an over-active inner critic, or triggers from childhood, but much of it is discomfort with long suppressed sexual energy, as the creative process is re-engaged and re-routed into the form of creating art. For sexual energy and creativity go hand in hand, and often the baby has been thrown out with the bathwater. As we have repressed and misunderstood sexuality, as we have been immersed in the world of control, we have metered and rationed the very energy that we need to create with.

Working with our artistry is crucial to ultimate healing, and our soul's emergence and evolution. No matter what we are creating, the very act of relaying that creative energy into a new channel sends a powerful message to the psyche. Even the smallest project could have big energy opening impact on other aspects of our life. Allowing the soul this expression pleases the Goddess within, and the muse will smile upon us, as one flash of inspiration gives way to a whole series of lightbulb ideas, and then another, and another, as we continue to give ourselves creative license.

As we develop the courage, the strength and the confidence to tap into our imagination and activate our imaginal cells, that part of us that looks like a question mark, we influence the power of our soul to come forth. They mystic within, the part of us that braves the mystery of our own selves is never happier when the fear of going into the void of creation is richly rewarded with synchronicity, divine conversation and inspirational wisdom. It is through this way of being that we can turn our entire lives into a masterpiece, especially if we allow ourselves to keep finding new avenues or going deeper with the artistry of our self-expression.

It is through this trust in ourselves as creator gods in the making that we truly can come to know God, and actually find expression for divine love. As we allow the mind and the heart of the higher powers of the universe inspire and guide us, our creativity takes on new meaning even to ourselves, offering brilliant, out of the box solutions to long standing issues and concerns not only in our lives, but in the world, as we tap into the prodigy within. He or She is in there. We have only to keep exploring and allowing that one to emerge into the light of our soul, and fearlessly enter the unknown. As they say, keep on until you surprise yourself.

The overwhelming urge to take stock of ourselves at the beginning of a new calendar year can often find us casting a harsh eye upon our lives. Often we are moved to make resolutions and enact new life plans and goals that will get us the results we are looking for because we are fed up or disgusted by the way things have been. And while it is true that discontent and discomfort are great teachers, it is also important to think about how we can open up to more love, more prosperity, more peace, more respect and more personal power from a creative, empowered, energized and loving space.

“In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.” ― Rumi

First of all, it is important to understand that anything outside of us cannot truly give us those things that we are seeking in a way that is whole. It is an inside job. If respect is won because we invoke fear in others, that negates the other things that we need and want such as love and peace. If peace is won as a result of denial, the cost might be our own self-respect and a decrease in personal power. Force and the use of personal willpower carries with it a great price. Love and allowing opens the energy for all of our human needs and heart's desires to cohabitate and harmonize. This is an opportunity for our inner team to learn how to play together, to balance and synthesize sometimes what appears to be conflicting needs, through our higher power.

“Everything in the universe is within you. Ask all from yourself.” ― Rumi

We must first bring into our field the energy of what it is that we want. If we want more love, we must be more loving... right now... not when we get a new partner... but now. The things that we do, the goals or intentions that we make, if done because we want to create love or peace or prosperity, become more of an allowing. Once the intention is made, and it is surrendered to the powers that be, in love, we step aside and get out of our own way. This is truly using the powers of creation as they are intended.This is Doing Without Doing, and engaging in the Art of Allowing.

“What you seek is seeking you.” ― Rumi

This allowing surely is not accompanied by motionlessness, but rather an acknowledgement that we are working with subtle and profound energies called love and light, and that these forces don't need our constant nagging or pleading to come into effect. After all, these are omnipotent powers that respond according to universal law. If anything appears to be arbitrary it is because there is another belief system that is over-riding it... or something that needs to be released and forgiven in order to allow the new in. The laws of the universe tell us that if we ask, then we will be given. Yet my question is, Do we receive what is given? Do we notice how the universal powers are trying to deliver our desires to us?

“Knock, And He'll open the door. Vanish, And He'll make you shine like the sun. Fall, And He'll raise you to the heavens. Become nothing, And He'll turn you into everything.” ― Rumi

As we start to think and feel more into what we would like to create from love, we find the need to focus less and less on what we do not want. This is a turning point when this begins to happen regularly. In unconditional love, there is supreme wisdom. For it is not bound by the desire for a specific result, which holds the objectivity that can help us to break out of old patterns and see new solutions, ideas and opportunities. As we allow our creations and relationships this sacred space, there is so much love, that the beloved, whatever or whoever that might be, is afforded the room to grow even potentially beyond our wildest dreams, and blossom into something we wouldn't even have known to ask for.

“A thousand half-loves must be forsaken to take one whole heart home.” ― Rumi

In love, we become fluid, like water.... and once we are set in motion... love is an eternal abiding action, like the waves of the ocean lapping the shore, even if we are apparently waiting or holding still. The river of love within continues to flow out, much like the energy that patiently coalesces within the seed, as it sprouts later for all to see that there is a period of silence, which will produce something tangible. Love was at work during the entire process, we find out after all.

Learning to love the process, the journey is what love is all about. It is not love if we are sending negativity to some aspect of ourselves, or if we have an "if/then" mentality. The universal laws do not support these hard lines. Sure, we can make things happen and it might appear that we have outrun these laws, but we end up with the unending job of controlling our lives, and instead of commanding our ship, we end up holding the bag on everything. This gives us little energy, inspiration and time for true creativity.

As we open up to greater love and oneness, we understand that there are parts of ourselves that we have barely given a voice in our life, namely our own soul. As we begin to make conscious contact with our soul, a world of wonder awakens within us. And we are moved. For love that comes through the soul moves us to take action, even if that action is to be still and know that God is within us. Even if that action is listening, praying, and meditating. Being still and doing nothing are not the same thing. And so it is through these small silent acts that we can hear the voice within that holds the greatest wisdom and insight of all... our higher self.

It is from this space that we can begin to hear and actuate the whispers of our own soul and bring ourselves truly alive. For love and light are our animating forces, what scientists call electo-magnetic energy. The truth be told, no matter what we call these forces within, so long as we recognize that all that we experience is a dance, a flow of energy, a juxtaposition of these two, we will have the understanding that will open us to the next levels of love. If Love is a verb... what do you love? And How does love move you?

Affirmations

I allow myself to feel my feelings.

As I acknowledge my feeling I break with denial and shatter illusion.

My feelings and thoughts are messengers.

I let go of what I think about how I feel.

I honor the sensations in my body and listen to their message.

JANUARY 2023: Perfecting Now

“Realize deeply that the present moment is all you have. Make the NOW the primary focus of your life." ― Eckhart Tolle

"If you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place. Primary reality is within; secondary reality without.” ― Eckhart Tolle

These two statements are like a lock and key. The NOW exists on the inner planes of our being. When we don't work with the inner, there is no now for us... everything remains linear and segmented. Cause and effect only happens in times and space as we look outward.

When we work in the present moment... ironically it uses time to our advantage, and we can tap into a new realm of cause and effect. We talk about the Secret... but this is the real secret... the place that exists outside of linear time and physical space... that this realm is as real as any other reality in any other realm brings us to the Now....the place of miraculous creation. We realize that when we step outside of time and get into the now, we can only be in communion, in oneness. It is a byproduct of that state. When we are focused outwardly on circumstances and situations that are outside of ourselves and holding them apart from ourselves, we have just stepped out of the now and into clock time.

Perfecting now does not mean that we are in sitting meditation all day. It means that we are mindful and present to every nuance of our existence that we have the eyes to see and the ears to hear. It means that we do the work to open and sharpen our skills of observation so that we can get into the Gap of our lives. Getting present might mean that you confront someone. Because unfinished business keeps us either mourning the past or fearful of the future in some regard. This robs us of the NOW, as we end up using our precious energy to babysit some unspoken specter.

In truth, we are being called to perfect our ability to defy gravity through the power of the illumined mind to work with time, inside of the sacred space of our own heart... for the purposes of coordinating, gathering and communing in the physical with each other. This is practice for the day when we will commune telepathically through a greater force than we now know that rules our lives. As we come clean with ourselves and each other, this possibility becomes an ever deepening reality.

This kind of kinship and communion is the re-unification of God's journey. Humpty Dumpty isn't looking to be put back together the way he was, not just because it's not possible... but because as he sat on that wall and fell back down to earth he was forever changed... he was broken open... just as we expand and grow we no longer fit into our old notions of who and what we are. As we realize this, the closer we get to God, the closer we are to each other. We are emerging something together here greater than the sum of it's parts. But in order to do this, in order to receive the future recall, the visionquests and the dreams, we must be present... we must be in the presence of our own soul.

Being one means that we are together, not the same. And being together means that we are of one mind, one heart and one soul. One mind does not mean that we think alike. One mind means that we have wisdom, love and understanding, and that we realize what a treasure our unique view, and another's unique view brings to the whole. It means that we foster our unique individually to benefit the greater whole.

As we realize our place in this world, enjoy the richness of our diversity, we harmonize this multi-verse into one song... the uni-verse. Not by sounding the same note, but by listening for the harmonics of our soul signatures to help us come together in perfect synergy and harmony.

We realize that physical space and our bodies are truly the only thing at this point that separate us and with the understanding that this separation is not the whole picture of reality we do not tell ourselves the lie of separation. We KNOW that even if we are not aware that what we do and who we are affects the whole. We can be of one mind, as we bring in the Light of the Soul and enjoin with the mind of God, however, you see the source. This is perfecting now.

I surrender to the love within my soul.

I trust the creator, the master of the divine plan and see the brilliance of this creation.

Whatever I am experiencing is exactly what I need to more fully claim my free will.

The wisdom of my higher self is my guiding force.

We have the great priviledge of being alive during the shifting of an age. Many of us remember hearing a very popular song from the 60's - it's refrain now passing out of the realm of art and entertainment into true life - for what we surely are witnessing is the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius, and its promise of peace and plenty. 

“Even truth needs to be clad in new garments if it is to appeal to a new age.” - Georg Lichtenberg 

Aquarius is the water bearer and is symbol is represented by a man pouring water out of a jug. Yet, Aquarius is an air element. It could be said that we are now entering a time, where our heads and our hearts will finally find greater connection and fuller expression. In a sense, this sign of the times is literally informing us that our enlightenment and our mental power is not complete without the magic of our heart and soul.

We are looking at not just a shift in an astrological age, but truly a shift in consciousness. We have already been witnessing this shift. There has been an awakening of souls, some through spiritual emergency and crisis, and some through pure grace. However it comes, it is coming for anyone who can let go and get into the flow. Gary Zukav in his book, Seat of the Soul, reminds us that new multi-sensory aspects of the human condition are coming online for everyone. And it is what we choose to do with those upgrades to our ability to communicate with each other, with nature and with the Universe itself and the powers that be, that will tell the tale of our ability to create a golden age.

Never before in the history of the planet has so very much of the world been able to directly communicate in the physical. This has changed everything and made things possible that would not have been possible. This rapid communication has actually affected time and has been and will continue to change the way we work with time. This has the potential to affect us in ways that we may not yet be able to comprehend. As the Mayans have been teaching us, time is to be respected and consciously worked with, including seasonal energies, cosmic and astrological forces, as well as our personal relationship with time and implications of an advanced means of relating to time.

The earth is changing and so are we. As more and more people become conscious of the power of intent and actively communicating with the earth, the planets, nature, animals, guides and guardians, and of course each other, we must hold the space for the wisdom of the ages, the insights and the teachings that have rolled forward through humanity and the human condition to nourish and advance us. This is our soul's emergence on the planet and in the flesh.

There is still much to be done, and it is all a labor of love. For never before has there been so much hope for healing, enlightenment, joy, peace, abundance and love for so many. Even the possibility of the dawning of a new age has begun to have an impact on the way that many of us now see the world. For we are seeing with clearer vision, higher hopes and open hearts. And so it is being re-membered how to walk the sacred way, the beauty way as we feel it in our bones, this New Earth Rising. 

New Earth Rising Affirmations

I am envisioning a new earth.

The new earth is filled with love, creativity and joy.

I face my fears and release the path of suffering.

I embrace the gift of life.

My joy is the joy of the world.

My peace brings peace to the world.

I honor and acknowledge my ancestors.

I understand the role my ancestors have played in my life and this creation.

I tap into the deep magic of creation.

I recognize my powers of manifestion.

I refine my connection to Spirit and to my own soul.

Through my heart connections I create my life in love.

I am filled with inspiration, creativity and solutions.

I see myself at the center of the universe.

When I find my medicine, my power, I am centered in my heart.

My heart is the gateway to my soul.

My soul is emerging.

The new earth energies are supporting our journey to bring heaven to earth.

I re-enter the garden of earthly delights with the full understanding that this manifestation is so that I can express and experience true love.

I make choices based in love.

I see all people, places and things through the eyes of love.

I take part in actively creating the New Earth.

NOVEMBER 2022: Gateway to Grace

"Your soul knows the geography of your destiny. Your soul alone has the map of your future, therefore you can trust this indirect, oblique side of yourself. If you do, it will take you where you need to go, but more important it will teach you a kindness of rhythm in your journey.” ― John O'Donohue

We hear much talk about gratitude and being grateful, especially during times devoted to thanksgiving, abundance and generosity. Yet, true gratitude cannot be demanded. One can logically understand when it is appropriate to feel grateful, especially if a gift is openly being given. However, it gets a bit trickier, when the gift is hidden in the silver lining of a storm cloud. Yet it is in those gifts that the seeds of our greatest gifts lie dormant. For all gratitude stems from one thing and one thing only; the potential for the reunification of God, to Love.

We are willing to experience anything to get back to God consciousness. This is our core drive, the need that fuels every single decision we make, know it or not. In fact, so badly do we seek this reunification, that we are willing to walk through a simulation, an illusion that thoroughly convinces us that we do not have free will, in order to claim that free will with consciousness, so that we can be together and free to love! We must come to the altar of every single thing we believe, lower levels of programming such as religious, family or cultural belief systems, upper level programming such as health, gender and even life and death itself, in order to fully claim our free will. No stone can be left unturned. For under any given rock lies an unchallenged belief system that holds our vibration down, and keeps you away from love.

Where before there was anonymity, now there is intimacy; where before there was fear, now there is courage; where before in your life there was awkwardness, now there is a rhythm of grace and gracefulness; where before you used to be jagged, now you are elegant and in rhythm with your self. When love awakens in your life, it is like a rebirth, a new beginning.” ― John O'Donohue

We are so encoded to re-unify in the flesh and to take up form that we have endured billions of years of evolution to do so. That we stand on the brink of being able to make the final walk over the abyss of our lower levels of consciousness and step fully into free will brings us to the altar of a kind of gratitude that defies gravity. It is in this space that we defy gravity for in the defiance of gravity, we remember our god selves and never find it sweeter to be able to stand upon this holy, sacred ground.

“Once the soul awakens, the search begins and you can never go back. From then on, you are inflamed with a special longing that will never again let you linger in the lowlands of complacency and partial fulfillment. The eternal makes you urgent. You are loath to let compromise or the threat of danger hold you back from striving toward the summit of fulfillment.” ― John O'Donohue

To stand here on the shoulders of all that has come before and grab the golden ring requires us to take the great sacrifices of our ancestors and go for it. But we must never think that we do this just for ourselves alone. The truth be told, if we think that, then we are not totally in free will, yet. For free will understands that all that has come before is a part of us, as well as those who stand now who are not yet awake. For as we re-enter the garden as mature, free-willed, self-realized creator gods and goddesses, we are making the winning touchdown for the whole of creation.

Now entering the garden sounds fine and romantic. For sure it is, but not in the ways that the unawakened would appreciate. Most of all, what it represents is our ability to live with each other, with other creator gods who have gone all the way within their own spirit, feel the strength of their own sphere of influence, touched their own divinity, and forged the will to love and live in peace with their kin. It could be said that there is no greater bliss than to meet your true kin. Kindred Spirits are not just your family, but are the people, animals, and places that speak to your heart, in such a way as to help you remember all that you have been, all that you are... and hints at what is to come.

The soul group is the final stage to the reunification of God/dess in the flesh. This is not something that can be spoken of, nor understood in a logical way. For when you begin to come together with your soul group, you are moving out of the path of suffering and into deeper aspects of yourself, the parts of you that are longing for a higher vibration so that the anguish of the separated self can be relieved of it's cosmic loneliness. Yet, it is not just a mental loneliness, or even sheerly emotional. It is intuitive and knowing that exceeds the physical senses. It is complete empathy, synthesis and cooperation for the glory of God... the glory of the people and this creation. For the Gift of this Earthwalk, the Gift of God is our Free Will... and the Gift of Free Will gives us the one thing of the great work; the freedom to Love.

Your only question here today is, Where am I not free to love? In a nation of gods in the making who were bound to experience the pillars of severity and mercy, science and art, yes's ad no's, right and wrong, good and bad, hot and cold, hard and soft, joy and sorrow.. will you come to understand your true nature, realize that you are at the top of the tree and that it is finally time to decide... Do you choose the middle path? Do you need the rod and the staff to prod you along? And if so, how hard do you want to be whacked with the stick? Or are you ready to listen to gentle voice of the beautiful mother within? Your own soul's whisperings that all beauty, joy, creativity, splendor and bliss is available to you here and now?

“Your noble friend will not accept pretension but will gently and very firmly confront you with your own blindness. Such friendship is creative and critical; it is willing to negotiate awkward and uneven territories of contradiction and woundedness.” ― John O'Donohue

The choice is not yours, until you say so. You are not wrong. Thy will be done. So it is up to you to decide your world's fate. How do you choose to be in the world? Don't choose love and then continue to suffer. Realize that you need to go to the root of the cause and get right with the choice to choose. If you believe in free will, then you can open the doors to a whole new world. If you do not, then knowing this is a point of power. These are not simple choices. Your entire life experience is designed to help you remember who you are. Keep listening, allow yourself to experience the proof of life. One day you will decide to choose another way. In that moment your gratitude will come into its fullest measure of abundance within you. That is the day when you are truly abundance, for that is the day that you are fully free to love.

Gateway to Grace Affirmations
I honor my power of choice.
I fully claim my free will.
I notice where I am not free and open to more love.
I ask what would love see, what would love do?
Help me see through the eyes of love.
There is always a story behind the story.
Soul friends and beloveds are part of my god self.
As I move closer to my higher self, I reunite with my soul group.
My soul group is here for me in ways I cannot imagine.
Love is an action, resulting in more love.
